    Education: University of Louisville

    Experience: Paul has been teaching guitar for close to 20 years. Paul has been on many stages from large festivals to small clubs. He has played shows with various national artists including Ted Nugent, Warrant, Skid Row, Great White, Bullet Boys, Dizzy Reed, Stuck Mojo, The Gore Gore Girls, Rehab, Pat Travers, and the list goes on. Paul will play between 100-150 shows in 2011, with more music and TV soundtrack opportunities on the horizon. Paul also pursues his love for teaching guitar with passion and a positive attitude.
    "Music is my life, and life is good! Being able to pass these positive experiences along to my students (young and old), is an absolute pleasure. While every student is different, I feel that general musical knowledge mixed with individual mechanical training can get each individual student on the path to achieving their goals. I'm just flattered to have the opportunity to share my knowledge with my fellow guitarists!"

    Experience: Dave has worked as a professional musician for more than fifteen years. Since 2004 Dave has taught hundreds of students on a variety of levels and instruments, including electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, banjo, and group rockshow programs. His soulful and melodic approach to guitar is characterized by a solid technique and knowledge of harmony along with hints of exploratory improvisation. Dave?s work with regional bands includes Arnett Hollow, Zongo, Chitara Rhythm Section, Phiasco, Kentucky Fried Pickin', You Crazy Digmond (Pink Floyd tribute), Dawn Landes, Ray Rizzo, and Andrea Davidson, among others. Dave has shared the stage with notable acts such as The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, Cracker, Robert Randolph, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, the Flaming Lips, and others. Currently Dave plays with the Jess Langer Band, the Soul Proprietors, and DL. Dave has logged more than a thousand studio hours as a session player, producer, songwriter, and arranger. His professional experience also includes extensive talent and venue booking, marketing, contracts, and other areas of artist management.

    Education: B.A. Music Education from Morehead State University; 15 years of Private Guitar Instruction; 6 years private voice instruction

    Influences: Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Bela Fleck, Trey Anastasio, Frank Zappa, John Mclaughlin, Bach, Curt Cobain, The Beatles, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, and Carlos Santana to name a few...

    Experience: Aaron has been teaching private guitar and voice lessons for the past 5 years. He?s been performing publicly as a guitarist and vocalist since 2002. He has performed with various bands incorporating elements of rock, pop, jazz, funk, ska, and other styles. Aaron has toured in Costa Rica with the Morehead State Choral program.

  1. John Grammer

    A professional musician and music teacher for more than thirty years John began his musical studies at the age of seven with piano and drums. He began studying french horn and theory in high school performing with the Louisville youth orchestra for five years. He then continued the horn with William Sloane and percussion with Ted Otten nd Elisabaeth Friese at the University of Louisville. At Bellarmine college, while studying theory and composition with Don Murray, he started playing the guitar.Over his long career he has performed throughout the souther and mid-western United States as well as in Europe in orchestras, rock bands, musicals and jazz and chamber music enembles. He has been featured sideman on recordings by David Evans and John Howell Smith. HIs diversity of style on guitar ranges from Renaissance lute music to jazz fusion, blues, and contemporary chamber music.

    Education: Graduated from Stetson University with a degree in Music Performance with an outside field in Psychology; 11 years of private voice instruction.

    Influences: Adele, Chloë Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Orla Fallen, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Steve Perry, Christina Aguilera, Samuel Barber, Ernest Chausson, Benjamin Britten, Henry Purcell, Katherine K. Davis and many more!

    Experience: Performing professionally in several solo and choral recitals at Stetson University and other conventions since 2004. I have performed in the Stetson?s Women?s Chorale at the ACDA Choral Convention in Memphis. I have performed in many musicals such as Damn Yankee?s, Oklahoma, How to succeed in Business without trying, and Anything Goes. I have also performed 5 years in the chorus of Disney?s Candlelight and had experience performing at Universal Studios.

    Education: Master of Music with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy, from East Carolina University. Bachelors Degree in Music, with an emphasis in Vocal Performance, from Jacksonville University. Pre-Music Degree, with an emphasis in Vocal Performance, from Gulf Coast Community College.

    Experience - John has been playing piano since the age of 9. He has played with various musicians in Texas, New York, and Seattle. In addition to majoring in piano performance he is also majoring in Theory/composition and is breaking into the video game industry as a composer. One of John?s goals is to play Rachmaninoff with the Louisville orchestra. He hopes to spread the joy of piano to the city of Louisville.

    Education: Attended the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY. Studied musical composition and theory at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA.  

    Influences: J.S. Bach, Jimmy Smith, Sergei Prokofiev, George Winston, John Coltrane, Erik Satie, The Doors, Sun Ra, Tom Waits, Aphex Twin, Kaikhosru Sorabji, Professor Longhair, Frank Zappa, Steve Reich, Albert Ammons, Toru Takemitsu, John Zorn, Conlon Nancarrow, and many more..  

    Experience: Low has played professionally for 17 years. For the past 7 years, he has been instructing students of all ages and skill levels, both in a studio setting and privately in their homes. As keyboardist for the Bryant-Stevens Band I have played festivals including the W.C. Handy, Garvin Gate, and more recently was a quarter-finalist in the International Blues Challenge held in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition, he provides special music for church services, is experienced in arranging, and studio recording work.

  1. Jose Vazquez Jr.

    Education: Student of the art, and a slave to the music. Currently pursuing an Associates of Science at Sullivan University. All the while, continuously cultivating his fifteen plus years of experience in music production, programming, and promotion.

    Influences: Break-ups, The late great J-Dilla, Dan the Automator, Parliament Funkadelic, rice and beans, a Tribe Called Quest, Asia, Prince and the Revolution, Richard Pryor, innovation, creativity, the future, the past, and the greatest gift of all time the present.

    Experience: Depending on who you ask, Jose has done it all. From a humble beginning as a programming director at a local AM radio station, to engineering and producing tracks for various hip-hop recording acts such as Akon, Mr. Cheeks, David Banner, Dead Prez, and the Diplomats; Jose has a plan to conquer the world one track at at a time. Major accomplishments include: engineering pro-tool sessions for Bad Boy Records recording act the Band, and also, producing and engineering tracks for Koch Records recording artist Foxxy Brown, and Grafh. Did we mention that he also scored a television show on B.E.T called Iron Ring, produced a number of web videos for Real Estate Showcase Television, and even produced a track for a DVD movie called Stone Cold Killers distributed by Maverick Entertainment. Sky is the limit for Jose and if you ask him, this is just the beginning.

    Education: Graduated from the University of North Texas, where I studied drum set with Ed Soph and played in various ensembles including the 5 O'Clock Lab Band

    Experience: 25 years as a professional drummer in Dallas, Austin, New Orleans and Louisville, including touring with bands across the U.S. and in Canada and Europe

  1. Austin Skarshaug

    Education: Originally from Ames, Iowa, graduated from the University of Louisville in Jazz Performance. Studied under Jason Tiemann and performed in Jazz I and II, the Hard Bop Ensemble and various combo groups. Studied classical percussion for two years under Jeffrey Lutz at UofL, and six year under Dr. Barry Larkin of Iowa State University

    Influences: Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Art Blakey, Brian Blade, Ari Hoenig, Jason Tiemann, and Ringo Starr.

    Experience: Austin has been teaching privately for the last three years. Performed at the La Plata Jazz Festival in Argentina in 2010 and at the Louisville Jazz Festival several years. Toured one summer with the Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band. Experienced as praise band drummer in various worship settings.
